Welcome to the W.C.B. podcast.

1:02

I think it's episode 710.

1:04

If my notes are correct, that could

1:06

be wrong. I think if you're being

1:09

here, hopefully you're having some good luck

1:11

turkey season. If your turkey season hasn't

1:13

started yet, we've got some good turkey

1:15

hunt to look forward to. We've had

1:18

a great season so far. We'll have

1:20

some updates on that here in the

1:22

next handful of episodes. I'll tell you

1:24

this time of recording this intro. Four

1:26

birds died this morning to the fall

1:28

of the WCP B crew. So pretty

1:31

good morning. Good reason to celebrate and

1:33

we're recording tonight, so that's going to

1:35

be dangerous. You have a dangerous BS

1:37

podcast on the way. And also feeling

1:39

generous right now, I think we're going

1:41

to give you guys a bonus Friday

1:44

episode this week as well. So Aluma

1:46

today, bonus episode tomorrow on your Friday.

1:48

So hopefully that helps two WCP episodes

1:50

this week. Hope you enjoy this one.

1:52

2:10

2:12

2:57

2:59

my comfort zone, but I'm going to have

3:02

a good time with everybody out there, great

3:04

people. Tropi line, saddles, Hoyt Archery, Novix, Tree

3:06

Stands, Camofire, Campofire, revolving deals on Camofirefire. Revolving

3:08

deals, right now they have chargers and fleschings

3:11

3:24

3:26

should be thinking about turkeys if you're gonna

3:29

roll the old barn in Fort Madison, they

3:31

kill it. Sam just had knee surgery, so

3:33

he's recovering a little bit, but the rest

3:35

of the great crude old barn is holding

3:38

the fort down for him. Deercast, our favorite

3:40

mapping tool for you know, hunting Y-tail specifically,

3:42

but the mapping tools are awesome. They seem

3:44

to be more up-to-date than other mapping tools

3:47

that we have. And it's just hard to

3:49

beat what Deercast has become. It's become the

3:51

ultimate tool in our opinion. Rogue Ridge, E-Bikes,

3:53

A-A-E, Arizona Archer, we're rocking Flutchings, W-C-B-Futchings. We'll

3:56

be here soon, I promise you. Evolution, evolution

3:58

4:00

4:07

guys. I'm gonna just, I just quick intro

4:09

4:11

we'll see on a Friday bonus episode. We

4:14

weren't going to do that, but let's give

4:16

the people a little more. So hope you

4:18

enjoy. Let us know what you think of

5:19

Mr. Al from Aluma, good to see you

5:21

again. Good to see you guys. How you

5:24

been? Thanks for having me back. Yeah. Did

5:26

the last time we did the podcast, did

5:28

it change your life? Man, it was a

5:30

life changing experience. It's my first time and

5:33

so. Is this the second time you've ever

5:35

done a podcast or have you done? No,

5:37

the second time. So you save your podcast

5:39

guest appearance is only for us. Only for

5:42

you guys. Wow, that's an honor. That is

5:44

an honor. That's an honor. I like you.

5:46

You bring us trailers, you're nice to us,

5:48

you buy us lunch. You got a really

5:51

nice one today. That's awesome. We're pretty proud

5:53

of our other one too, but this one

5:55

is like get out, put some deer food

5:57

plots in and go do farm stuff. size.

6:00

You can do some real work with that

6:02

trailer. Yeah, this is a getting shit done

6:04

trailer. Yeah, it is. It's a 22 foot

6:06

tilt bed fine unit. 14K unit. You can

6:09

put your skid loaders on there, you can

6:11

put your small tractors on there, you can

6:13

put your small tractors on there, attachments, those

6:15

kinds of things on there. Yeah, it's just

6:18

side by side. Adult toys, all kinds of

6:20

fun. Yeah, that's the thing like, like Aluma

6:22

is, you know, you know, you know, you

6:24

know, you know, you know, you know, you

6:27

know, and some guys don't think about it.

6:29

Like I had luma trailers, that's a partner

6:31

of WCP, but I think it over, it

6:33

gets overlooked how important it is if you're

6:36

doing, you know, some guys have hobby properties

6:38

that don't do anything, but if you're trying

6:40

to like, part of the hobby of deer

6:42

hunting is food plots and land work and

6:45

management and stuff like that, and part of

6:47

that process is a trailer. Yeah, because if

6:49

you're gonna take equipment and all that stuff

6:51

out there, you gotta have a trailer, you

6:54

gotta have a trailer. So, to us. I

6:56

see it goes hand in hand. I know

6:58

last episode you're in we kind of talked

7:00

about that a little bit like I don't

7:03

know if you guys view it that much

7:05

from a hunting standpoint from internal and aluma

7:07

or not. We hear a lot of stories

7:09

by guys that use our trailers for for

7:12

hunting in all different capacities so we kind

7:14

of joke that we specialize in convenience and

7:16

hopefully it works in the hunting world as

7:18

well. It gives you a spot to or

7:21

a vehicle to use to get your equipment

7:23

to your hunting spot, whether you be your

7:25

side by side, or if you're working on

7:27

food plots, take your equipment out there and

7:30

never have everything that you need with you.

7:32

And also a way to get your game

7:34

back. Yeah, yeah. You're lucky enough to have

7:36

something to bring back. Right. It's funny like

7:39

how it all scales, because like, all right,

7:41

had some leases and permission farms. It's like,

7:43

I had to call a buddy that had

7:45

a tractor, and then you get the one

7:48

tractor like this is great but I want

7:50

the other tractor that has like the little

7:52

more creature comfort so like make my job

7:54

easier so went from just like straight gear

7:57

tractor to now I got like the hydro

7:59

stat where I just turn around on a

8:01

dime well then you get those trailers and

8:03

you're like all right this trailer I'm tired

8:06

of dealing with ramps broke the ramp on

8:08

that one that sucks and I've been rocking

8:10

a big 20-20-foot steel trailer with the heavy

8:12

ass ramps and I hate like man a

8:15

till bed would just be It takes so

8:17

much headache out of this. It does. You

8:19

know, a little much help. So we got

8:21

one now. We got one. No rust. No

8:24

rust. Easy to work with. Looks good. Light.

8:26

It's lightweight. Yeah. Especially on gravel, man. Nothing

8:28

makes you just like look at your baby.

8:30

And just kind of like a tear comes

8:33

down since it's all gravel chipped and rusty.

8:35

First time you take down gravel. Oh, it's

8:37

the worst shit. You won't have that with

8:39

this one. Yeah, I'm really looking forward to

8:42

it. It's got the nice wheels and shit

8:44

on it. It's four times the value of

8:46

the truck I'm driving, which I love that

8:48

truck. Yeah. But it's great, you know, that's

8:51

like, it just, the creature comforts of what

8:53

Aluma has and what it offers and the

8:55

longevity of it is, I mean, it's the

8:57

shining star of utility. You'll own that trailer

9:00

for a long, long time and you'll have

9:02

a lot of really good service out of

9:04

it. So yeah. What a, so I know

9:06

we talked about a lot of this on

9:09

the last one, but I want to talk

9:11

about some of the new stuff from Aluma

9:13

and I know to some people this might

9:15

seem kind of this might seem kind of

9:18

like a commercial, kind of like a commercial,

9:20

like a commercial, like a little bit, You

9:22

know, if guys are next level deer farming

9:24

or land management, this is good info for

9:27

them for sure. What's the most, like, what's

9:29

the most popular trailer that you guys close

9:31

right now, you think? You know, our tilt

9:33

trailers have really become popular, both in single

9:36

axils and tandums in the last few years

9:38

here, and we've got a wide variety of

9:40

tilt trailers that, you know, whether you're going

9:42

out hunting and you're taking a side by

9:45

side out. Going out with the family, riding

9:47

the trails, whatever, we've got a wide variety

9:49

of products to help in all of those

9:51

categories. It's kind of fun when you go

9:54

around the country and you see, you know,

9:56

you go from the East Coast to the

9:58

West Coast and the Midwest, you see all

10:00

different uses for the different types of recreation

10:03

that they're, you know, that they're taking their

10:05

toys out to, rather be out in the

10:07

desert, riding in the desert or if they're

10:09

doing the trails around here or just farm

10:12

working. going out to your food plots or

10:14

whatever, you know, and to some guys, that's

10:16

a lot of recreation. That's a big part

10:18

of their hobby or whatever. Yeah. And to

10:21

have those trailers that they can use multi-purpose,

10:23

I think is really good for them to

10:25

have something they can, like the trailer you

10:27

just got, you can put your tractor on,

10:30

you can put a small or a pretty

10:32

good size skid loader on that trailer. Yeah.

10:34

You can still put side by sides on

10:36

it. You can do a lot of different

10:39

stuff with that. People are able to have

10:41

one trailer that they can use in a

10:43

lot of different capacities But we've got a

10:45

wide variety of trailers from the small ones

10:48

all the way up to the big ones.

10:50

But like said, tilt trailers have become really,

10:52

really popular and they just offer a lot

10:54

of versatility for people. They don't have any

10:57

ramps that they have to worry about or

10:59

tailgates. And for those people that want something

11:01

that's not a tilt trailer, we have a

11:03

full, you know, pretty full lineup there as

11:06

well. Yeah, the other one we have is

11:08

like a 14 foot, perfect on the side

11:10

by side, but what I like about it,

11:13

there's enough room. So I had a what

11:15

I had before I got 10 10 or

11:17

12 foot that it wasn't big enough like

11:19

now I can bring like a Packer Max

11:22

cultivaker on the back of that or if

11:24

I have like my sprayer booms I don't

11:26

gonna worry about the gate hitting on or

11:28

anything right it's just nice it's so damn

11:31

yeah that 14's like ideal for an ATV

11:33

I would say you have to have it

11:35

now I don't know if you have like

11:37

a crew cab what you want I think

11:40

it'd probably still fit on that 14 or

11:42

we've got a 15 or we've got a

11:44

15 or we've got a 15 or we've

11:46

got a we've got a we've got a

11:49

we've got a we've got a 15 foot

11:51

for some of a 15 foot for some

11:53

of a 15 foot for some of a

11:55

15 foot for some of the bigger Some

11:58

of them coming out of the crate have

12:00

gotten a lot heavier. They're 27, they're 3,000

12:02

pounds or even more if they're electric coming

12:04

out of the crate and then people are

12:07

adding some additional stuff on them. So this

12:09

year we came out with some new trailers

12:11

that had a heavier axle on them that

12:13

actually have a GVWR, a 4,400 pound axle

12:16

on them. So that trailer gives you the

12:18

ability to have a single axle trailer and

12:20

that you can put your crew. crew cab

12:22

machine on and still have plenty of capacity.

12:25

You're not totally maxing out the trailer. Worst

12:27

thing in the world is you're going down

12:29

the road and you have problems with it

12:31

and that's yeah, we want to avoid that

12:34

at every cost. So when you're going out

12:36

to do your hunt, you're going out to

12:38

have some recreation time with your family or

12:40

whatever that. You can get there with peace

12:43

of mind. Yeah, you're screwing around alongside the

12:45

road somewhere, right? Especially in a long road,

12:47

like a long hunting trip, you know, you

12:49

got, you're carrying shit out there. It's like,

12:52

you just want to get to where you

12:54

can go so you can shoot animals. You're

12:56

not trying to mess. You don't want to

12:58

think about the trailer, you just want to

13:01

know it's hooked up, then you can go.

13:03

But we need to get some trailer, one

13:05

of the aloomas out this fall and just

13:07

fall and just get a bunch of... bad

13:10

bucks lined up on the deck. That'd be

13:12

pretty cool. That'd be awesome. That'd be pretty

13:14

cool. That'd be a good photo op. Oh,

13:16

for sure. You know what I mean? All

13:19

turkey season's coming up. We'll stock a bunch

13:21

of turkey bodies on it. That's funny. Yeah,

13:23

we should see how many we can load

13:25

up on the big dog here. That's a

13:28

good call posing up on them. It's funny

13:30

we're talking about this on the last podcast.

13:32

We run those grizzly blinds from Decora. It's

13:34

like man, you know how you know how

13:37

you know how you know how you know

13:39

how you know how just... ball and it

13:41

would look to just leave one on a

13:43

luma and leave it out in the field.

13:46

It's just like, yeah, but don't worry about

13:48

nothing with the aluma. Yeah, that's for sure.

13:50

That'd be a nice setup. Yeah, well, I'd

13:52

get a polished. Nice. Yeah, well, I'd to

13:55

get a polished. Nice and short. Anybody polish?

13:57

Anybody polish one of the alumas? We have

13:59

had. Anybody polish one of the alumas? polish

14:01

out the trailer. There was an older gentleman

14:04

up by Algona, Iowa, that had one that

14:06

he polished out. It was absolutely beautiful when

14:08

he got done with it. It was really

14:10

neat. I asked him how many hours he

14:13

had in it and he said, you don't

14:15

want to know. So what do they ceramic

14:17

coat those when they're done polishing them or

14:19

they just leave them? I imagine you just

14:22

leave it. Yeah. I think he said he

14:24

just left it and then he'd touch it

14:26

up every now and then. Yeah, he kept

14:28

it inside inside all the inside all the

14:31

inside all the inside all the time all

14:33

the time. Oh, I'd have to slam. I

14:35

don't know if you can do that, but

14:37

you know what I'm saying? Like that coating

14:40

you put on them? So I wasn't know.

14:42

If you could do that or not? That'd

14:44

be interesting to find out. That'd be the,

14:46

I mean, should have took that much work.

14:49

You're probably blinding people going on the road

14:51

without shining. Yes, it's very shiny. Like chrome

14:53

pretty much. It looks like chrome on the

14:55

factory, like we walked what? 100 yards from

14:58

the bar to the road and we're sitting

15:00

there admiring it and we already had a

15:02

compliment on it We weren't there five minutes.

15:04

I mean, it's a good-looking trailer. Yeah, beautiful.

15:07

Yeah, it's it's funny now like working with

15:09

you guys I'm always looking so anytime I

15:11

see an aluminum trailer like even like I've

15:13

seen an aluminum trailer like even like I've

15:16

seen some old alume trailers for 20 25

15:18

years and they bring them in and they

15:20

need a part replaced on them or they

15:22

just have a little repair that needs to

15:25

be done on them and you look at

15:27

them and you can I mean there's still

15:29

good trailers they're still going down the road

15:31

and they're still yeah doing they're out there

15:34

doing work all the time so it's fun

15:36

to see that yeah well it's fuck I

15:38

mean I've had some trailers I mean, Lee

15:40

bought my other trailer, it's nice, you know,

15:43

but on gravel, it just goes from a

15:45

trailer that's a year old to looking like

15:47

it's 10 years old and a jiff, like

15:49

yeah, less than a year. It's like, yeah,

15:52

that's a bummer, but gravel chews up paint

15:54

pretty fast. Yeah, it's bad. I know it's,

15:56

the other trailer's been great, so I'm excited

15:58

man. I can't wait to throw that tractor

16:01

on there and go food plot. Yeah, you're

16:03

going to like it. You're going to like

16:05

it. You're going to like it. You're going

16:07

to like it. You're going to like it.

16:10

You're going to like it. You're going to

16:12

like a lot. You're going to like a

16:14

lot. You're going to like a lot. You're

16:16

going to like a lot. You're going to

16:19

like a lot. You're going to like a

16:21

lot. talking about that a little bit before

16:23

we talk about some of the other new

16:25

stuff from alum it's like we're getting ready

16:28

to do that a bunch like yeah big-time

16:30

borderline is like we use it as a

16:32

screening it looks like corn from a distance

16:34

and it just we use it to like

16:37

control deer movement and block off areas from

16:39

being just you know like what I'm gonna

16:41

do I'm gonna plant a bunch along the

16:43

road so people can't look down the farm

16:46

you know and stuff like that it's stuff

16:48

like that it's all our spring plots, clover

16:50

plots. Well, I'm basically just doing spring clover

16:52

plots. Yeah, it's a great time of year

16:55

to get out there and start doing some

16:57

of these chores. We've been dreaming about all

16:59

winter. Yeah, guys are already sticking switchgrass in

17:01

the ground. It's getting time and spraying, you

17:04

know, getting ready for stuff. And what a

17:06

great time to look at a trailer. I

17:08

can see a lot of value in this

17:10

product because, and I think a lot of

17:13

guys can because we're getting so spread out

17:15

between between farms. Like I'm in a couple

17:17

different states. one way to a farm in

17:19

a nice light trailer like this is going

17:22

to be it's going to be what a

17:24

guy wants yeah so and I don't think

17:26

I'm in the minority there I think most

17:28

guys probably have two or three hunting properties

17:31

that are fairly spaced out you know not

17:33

close enough that you can drive your tractor

17:35

to each one yeah so consider a trailer

17:37

like this it's going to save you a

17:40

lot of headache in the long run. Yep.

17:42

Well I tell I have one farm that

17:44

I can drive a tractor to. I mean

17:47

I tend to drive to the other one

17:49

which wouldn't be any fun. It just takes

17:51

you six years to get there. Yeah that

17:53

I have to stop at the Casey's and

17:56

get fuel done. That'd be a long trip.

17:58

It wouldn't be worth it. I mean if

18:00

I had to do it, I could do

18:02

it. It would just would not be a

18:05

not be a good time be a good

18:07

time. Especially with a tiller on the tiller

18:09

on the tiller on the tiller on the

18:11

tiller on the back. Well yeah, I think

18:14

most guys don't hunt near where they live

18:16

for the most part with the way Illinois

18:18

is some of the states are for getting

18:20

permission. A lot of guys are multiple states

18:23

now, you know, like they have a lease

18:25

in one state and then their home farm

18:27

and then another lease and it's like man,

18:29

something like this you put it behind the

18:32

truck, you don't even feel it back there.

18:34

Yep, exactly. The neat thing is you can

18:36

go behind a lot of the half-ton vehicles,

18:38

suburban Tahos, expeditions, that kind of that kind

18:41

of thing you can go behind, you can

18:43

go behind there, you can go behind there

18:45

pulling our pulling our pulling our trailers, pulling

18:47

our trailers. One thing that we've heard from

18:50

a lot of people is they've got a

18:52

half ton truck. They don't want to go

18:54

to a three quarter ton truck. And with

18:56

the difference in the weight of a steel

18:59

trailer versus the aluminum trailer, you can get

19:01

by with that a lot of times. Yeah.

19:03

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's a good point. I'm

19:05

excited to pull. That's a three quarter ton

19:08

truck out there. I have a half ton.

19:10

And I know I haven't pulled my, I've

19:12

pulled my tractor one time with this three

19:14

quarter ton, but with the steel trailer that

19:17

I had for that. So I'm gonna try

19:19

that with my half time just see, yeah,

19:21

see how it goes, how big if you

19:23

liked it. It would, it pulled it fine.

19:26

You could just feel it on the truck

19:28

while you're driving it. It's the stopping part,

19:30

you know, you gotta find it out. So

19:32

I'm gonna try it and see how big

19:35

a difference is. I'm excited to get out.

19:37

I'm like itching to just do like farm

19:39

work. I'm like even itching to just do

19:41

farm work for no reason. Like I just

19:44

want to drive around. So that's when you

19:46

get anything new. You just want to just

19:48

go out and use it. Yeah, totally. It's

19:50

that time of year again to get out

19:53

and get started. Yeah. I just want to

19:55

move logs around the tractor for no reason.

19:57

Just moving from here to here and back

19:59

and forth. So is that heavier axle trailer

20:02

talking about for side by side? Is that

20:04

the 81 series? So we've got, we also

20:06

have that in the 81 series. The 81

20:08

series typically came with a 3,500 pound axle

20:11

before and now we've got it in the

20:13

4,400 pound axle. We had to make some

20:15

changes in the trailer to accommodate that but

20:17

we've got it both ways so you can

20:20

still get the standard trailer with the 3,500

20:22

pound axle or if you're looking for something

20:24

that. Where you do need brakes, you know,

20:26

you talk about stopping and when you've got

20:29

something that heavy behind you, especially if you're

20:31

pulling it with a little bit smaller tow

20:33

vehicle, you want to have that ability to

20:35

have brakes on there so that it's safe.

20:38

Going up to that heavy axle trailer, it

20:40

does add brakes and it gives you extra

20:42

capacity as well. So there's some differences between

20:44

the trailers to do that, but it does

20:47

give you... the ability to load some of

20:49

those heavier machines and go down the road

20:51

with them. That'd be a nice fit on

20:53

a half-time vehicle. Very nice fit on a

20:56

half-time vehicle. You got the brakes, you got

20:58

the capacity to haul some extra weight, and

21:00

you got the light trailer. That's money. I

21:02

feel that Austin's going to be asking the

21:05

bomb. I might have to inquire a little

21:07

bit. I bought these two trailers like, they're

21:09

only two or three years old now, so

21:11

I'm going to be getting rid of something

21:14

that's fairly something that's fairly new. It's fairly

21:16

new, it's fairly new, it's fairly new, it's

21:18

fairly new, it's fairly new, it's fairly new,

21:20

but, but, but, but, but, but I can

21:23

be, I can see a lot of benefits

21:25

with a trailer like this. Oh yeah, you're

21:27

doing more equipment on than we are too.

21:29

I'm moving around a lot and a summer

21:32

I'll be back and forth between Iowa and

21:34

Illinois, you know, 10 times. You might as

21:36

well hook it up and never unhook it.

21:38

I might just steal it from you guys.

21:41

That's not happened. It's always good to have

21:43

something you can borrow a trailer for. Yeah,

21:45

if you need it to go to Iowa.

21:47

and stuff we'll do it but you know

21:50

I better test it out for I buy

21:52

one content purposes yeah yeah nice thing is

21:54

too you can pick that trailer up and

21:56

move it around easy once you're unhooked from

21:59

your tow vehicle so if you're yeah somewhere

22:01

where you have some space constraints it's easy

22:03

to move it around set it behind the

22:05

house or behind the you know behind your

22:08

shed or whatever yeah get it out of

22:10

the way you can do that fairly easy

22:12

with one person on a lot of those

22:14

trailers some of the bigger trailers it takes

22:17

two people but yeah I got a question

22:19

and if you don't know it's a product

22:21

idea for you guys okay so I put

22:23

an apple air tag on my other aluma

22:26

because if it's sitting there it's a nice

22:28

trailer someone steals it I could find it

22:30

yep do you guys have a something like

22:32

that put on the trailers or a spot

22:35

that you recommend? Maybe you can't say it

22:37

on air, but like you know what I

22:39

mean? That's a product idea. Something you can

22:41

put like a tag or something into. So

22:44

we have, we don't have currently, we have

22:46

been talking to some people, there were some

22:48

people at the NATDA show in August that

22:50

we're promoting that type of thing. So there

22:53

are some products out there that are coming

22:55

into the marketplace now. Yeah. Where you can

22:57

put them on the trailer so that you

22:59

can track them if it's ever stolen and

23:02

keep track of it. It's a good idea.

23:04

It is something that's I think it's well

23:06

worth what it costs to do it. So

23:08

yeah, yeah, definitely because our buddy Cole he's

23:11

got a bunch of trailers for his business

23:13

and he just I don't know the encaps

23:15

for the frame of the trailer just keep

23:17

water out he pops them off and just

23:20

throws the air tag down in it because

23:22

then it's just once the battery dies it's

23:24

just in there I got I got them

23:26

in everything now that my wife's car was

23:29

stolen back in September so and trailers are

23:31

hot. And trailers are hot that's the thing

23:33

everybody wants to This rule area trailer seemed

23:35

to go faster than anything. So that's a

23:38

great idea. I never thought about doing that.

23:40

We have air tags and everything. Everything. That's

23:42

smart. That's a good idea. You know, I

23:44

just didn't know there was a device or

23:47

not a device, but just something that held

23:49

the air tag that like bolted up and

23:51

looked factory clean factory fits. So you could

23:53

that's something that we could definitely do that.

23:56

It's a good idea. Yeah, I think it

23:58

would be like, you know, whatever it is

24:00

another $30 for the the train where it

24:02

bolts or whatever it would be Yeah, I

24:05

think everybody would do it because dude, you

24:07

can't get away with anything nowadays like there's

24:09

a camera on everything. There's I mean we

24:11

have air tags on everything every bind I

24:14

have every you know I'm not gonna tell

24:16

everybody what I got air tags in but

24:18

don't steal anything from me because I'll know

24:20

where it's at. We just got them tucked

24:23

everywhere you know you get nice stuff and

24:25

it's insurance policy spend good money for it

24:27

you want to you want to hang on

24:30

to it and have it for a long

24:32

time. Yeah I just thought that was a

24:34

neat idea you know just they've they got

24:36

them for like cat collars and dog calls

24:39

and dog calls and stuff anything anything. That'd

24:41

be a good way to just see where

24:43

it's at. But it's crazy people wouldn't even

24:45

steal things anymore knowing the risk to get

24:48

caught. It's crazy. But I don't know. I

24:50

just thought that was a neat product idea.

24:52

All right, what about an aluma and camo?

24:54

Well, that's difficult to do. You can tell

24:57

me a stupid idea next question. Next question.

24:59

The way we're set up, it's difficult to

25:01

do for us. I have seen some that

25:03

people have used different wraps on that are

25:06

kind of cool like on the rock guards

25:08

and on the sides they put different wraps

25:10

on them or they've actually painted them. We

25:12

aren't set up to do that at the

25:15

factory. Yeah, yeah, but it would be kind

25:17

of cool It would be neat. I think

25:19

you know the fenders wrapped in camo or

25:21

have the logo like a camo logo or

25:24

something on it like a sportsman series with

25:26

the camo logo That'd be sweet hydrodip the

25:28

whole thing There you go. No, you know

25:30

part of the look though in a luma

25:33

is it looks like an aluma. I know

25:35

you can tell it's aluminum trailer, you know,

25:37

you know, it's like it's like it's all

25:39

clean and it's all clean and bare. It's

25:42

all clean and bare. It's all clean and

25:44

bare. It's like it's all clean and bare.

25:46

It's like it's all clean and bare. It's

25:48

like it's all clean and bare. It's all

25:51

clean and bare. It's all clean and bare.

25:53

It's like and you can acid wash it

25:55

as you go down in the road a

25:57

few years if you want to. What is

26:00

that? That's what the driver when he dropped

26:02

it off was telling us about. So you

26:04

know with aluminum you can use a light

26:06

acid wash and you can bring some of

26:09

that brilliance back of what the trailer was

26:11

like when it was new and it's pretty

26:13

easy to do. The only thing you don't

26:15

want to do is get it on the

26:18

steel parts on the trailer so the cover

26:20

is just yeah it takes a... finish off

26:22

like a zinc coated coupler or something like

26:24

that, it'll strip the finish off pretty quickly.

26:27

But if you stick to having it on

26:29

the aluminum parts of the trailer, you can

26:31

really bring it back to, you can bring

26:33

back some of that brilliance that it had

26:36

when it was new. And you can do

26:38

that to, you know, I go back talking

26:40

about people that have brought trailers in that

26:42

live around Bancroft-Ramitzburg and they bring them in,

26:45

they'll ask us to do that to do

26:47

that. And you can take a 15-year-year-old trailer,

26:49

acid wash it and it's not gonna look

26:51

brand new but it's pretty close it's gonna

26:54

look pretty good yes it's amazing when you

26:56

think about how old it is to be

26:58

able to do that and bring them bring

27:00

it back to brilliance and there's a lot

27:03

of products on the market that are aftermarket

27:05

products you can buy it you know like

27:07

at a local part store hardware store whatever

27:09

and even like the you know the truck

27:12

like a blue beacon Truck wash some of

27:14

those blue beacons rule. Yeah, you can you

27:16

can run them through there and they're they're

27:18

pretty good at cleaning them up and and

27:21

making them look pretty darn nice So that's

27:23

something that that's one of the advantages of

27:25

having aluminum Over the years, especially for people

27:27

that are really particular and they want to

27:30

keep their stuff looking really nice. Yeah, for

27:32

sure. Yeah, okay. I just pulled up a

27:34

picture of like before and after. That's crazy.

27:36

How satisfying. Yeah. There you go. That's an

27:39

Aluma viral video. You know this, right? For

27:41

social. There you go. Bring one in. It's

27:43

something we should do. Yeah, you guys should

27:45

be doing that. It shows like good marketing

27:48

idea. That's a good idea. Because you know

27:50

it's like anything power washing. Yeah. So I

27:52

better see a luma as like you guys

27:54

need to get in the luma tick-tock is

27:57

just acid washing. There you go. Trailers. And

27:59

I bet you didn't have to get the

28:01

end. That's working on that right away. And

28:03

honestly, I bet it'd be a hit. Mark

28:06

my words, it'll be a hit. Where are

28:08

we talking? Okay. You guys got a five-year

28:10

warranty. So when you buy one, you get

28:12

that covered. Yep. And it's not only a

28:15

five-year warranty, but it's a. If it has

28:17

wiring that would happen to go bad, a

28:19

light that goes bad, God forbid a cracked

28:21

weld, you know, anything that's a warranty or

28:24

that's a problem on that trailer, except for

28:26

wear items, basically tires and brakes, everything else

28:28

is gonna be covered under that five-year warranty.

28:30

So even lights that's impressive. Yeah, lights wiring.

28:33

That's some of the stuff that we take

28:35

a lot of pride in. And we want

28:37

that trailer to go on the road safely.

28:39

We want we want to know that if

28:42

you guys are going out to go hunting,

28:44

if you're going out to go hunting, if

28:46

you're going out to spend some family time,

28:48

or if you're working with it, that it's

28:51

not going to be a hassle. Yeah, it's

28:53

going to be convenient. And that you can

28:55

go down the road. tires do have a

28:57

roadside warranty again so if you have a

29:00

problem within the first year you can call

29:02

into the supplier that we use and we

29:04

can get that information from the factory and

29:06

even if you hit a piece of glass

29:09

or a nail or something in the road

29:11

and it ruins a tire will replace a

29:13

tire for the first year so damn that's

29:15

awesome so yeah there's it's and we're putting

29:18

a good quality radio tire on all of

29:20

our products so again We aren't the cheapest

29:22

trailer in the market and we know that

29:24

but we we feel that we provide a

29:27

lot of quality and a lot of value

29:29

for what the customer is getting It's an

29:31

investment when you buy an Aluma trailer and

29:33

and we appreciate that people are willing to

29:36

step up and make that investment But we

29:38

also feel they're getting the value for what

29:40

they're paying for there and they're going to

29:42

have that product for a long time. It's

29:45

going to have really good resale value if

29:47

they ever want to move up to a

29:49

bigger trailer or they had, you know, something

29:51

changes and they don't have a need for

29:54

it. They're going to have good resale value

29:56

with it and hopefully have a lot of

29:58

peace of mind and like said, if they're

30:00

going out hunting, family trip, whatever the case

30:03

might be. Yeah, it's a cry once cry

30:05

once type thing. Like we can't go, can

30:07

we go to the Aluma HQ and buy

30:09

a trailer there and you have to go

30:12

to a dealer? Has to go to a

30:14

dealer. We don't sell anything factory direct. That's

30:16

something that we're really stringent about. We really

30:18

want our customers to go to the dealers.

30:21

The dealers are the expert on making sure

30:23

that you're gonna get the right trailer for

30:25

what you're using it for. So the worst

30:27

case scenario in the world is someone goes

30:30

in and spends. good money to buy a

30:32

trailer and they go home and it doesn't

30:34

work for what they thought it was going

30:36

to. And our dealers are usually very good

30:39

about trying to qualify you to make sure

30:41

that, hey I'm going to haul a 10,000

30:43

pound skid loader, well then you can't go

30:45

on a 7,000 pound trailer. It may fit

30:48

on there, but it's not within the capabilities

30:50

of that trailer. Or if you're going out

30:52

to do your food plot and you want

30:54

to have a tractor and some attachments and

30:57

stuff, we want to make sure that you've

30:59

got the capacity there to take care of

31:01

that. We really feel that our dealers do

31:03

a great job for us. They're very familiar

31:06

with what you know what it's going to

31:08

take to help you get your job done.

31:10

It works best for us. We feel we're

31:13

the experts at the manufacturing side of it

31:15

and the dealers are the experts at making

31:17

sure they get the customer taking care of

31:19

on that side of it. right off. We're

31:22

about to become an Aluma dealer right now,

31:24

Eric. Sure. Put them on the roof. We've

31:26

got, we've got, we've got dealership opportunities available

31:28

throughout the country. So we're looking for this

31:31

lot right here, put them right on Main

31:33

Street. Just fly down the gas station right

31:35

here, put them to grab a lot and

31:37

we'll just have them. That'd be a nice

31:40

look. I like that. I don't know how

31:42

shiny every day. There's definitely better than that

31:44

gas station, that's for sure. A little over

31:46

30 years old right now. So a gentleman

31:49

named Dean Mashoff started a luma a long

31:51

time ago and he kind of started in

31:53

his garage. So it's one of those stories

31:55

about a guy who started in his garage.

31:58

Dean was an expert in the aluminum field.

32:00

he was an engineer and he had worked

32:02

with the Winnebago Industries at one time in

32:04

four city Iowa which is close to where

32:07

our factory is in Bancroft Iowa and Emmits

32:09

were Iowa and to make a long story

32:11

short Dean kept working with different extrusions and

32:13

stuff and he had a couple people approached

32:16

him that wanted a small trailer for golf

32:18

carts. Oh really? And that's what Aluma started

32:20

with is and it's growing from that point.

32:22

Golf cart trailers. Yeah and still a family-owned

32:25

company the Lloyd family. Mike and Kevin and

32:27

their sister Lori own Aluma today and they've

32:29

done a great job with it and we're

32:31

about 200 employees strong right now. Nice. Two

32:34

locations both in Iowa. It's been a good

32:36

company to work with. I know last time

32:38

you said there's a couple people that listen

32:40

to the podcast, hopefully they still do that

32:43

work in the facility. Yeah, yeah. They're probably

32:45

like, these guys are idiots, we're done. I

32:47

was surprised how many people came back and

32:49

said, hey we saw you on that podcast.

32:52

Yeah, shout out to you guys listening in

32:54

there, that's awesome. Yeah, I'd like to come

32:56

up and see it. We would love to

32:58

have you come up and tour the factories.

33:01

We love to have you come up and

33:03

tour the tour the factory. I love it.

33:05

Coming from a factory background and a welding

33:07

background. Yeah, great. We've had some exciting stuff

33:10

going on at the factories. We've been investing

33:12

in some new technology and some new robotics.

33:14

We're just in the process of putting a

33:16

new laser in. Oh, sweet. And that's going

33:19

to be really fun to see what... you

33:21

know what we can do with that anything

33:23

just like experiment with parts from well I'm

33:25

excited about from the R&D standpoint the production

33:28

managers and stuff they're very excited about what

33:30

parts that we can make in-house and have

33:32

better quality control yeah and not that we

33:34

don't have really good vendors that we work

33:37

with but it's always nice anytime you can

33:39

do stuff in-house yes so we've been doing

33:41

a pretty good job so we've been doing

33:43

a pretty good job so we've been doing

33:46

a pretty good job so we've been doing

33:48

a pretty good job so we've been Owners

33:50

money here. We got a new some new

33:52

robotics that are really cool to watch. We're

33:55

getting ready to to robotically weld one of

33:57

our bigger trailers from start to finish. That's

33:59

going to be really neat to see. So

34:01

yeah guys like Eric and I are trying

34:04

to weld them are just like that's it

34:06

get the robot. Yeah you're done. Get it

34:08

out of here. Interesting part is it's you

34:10

know you think you're going to put robotics

34:13

in and people get a little concerned sometimes

34:15

whether it's going to affect their jobs or

34:17

not. Yeah. It really never does. It's almost,

34:19

it helps you grow. It helps you get

34:22

better at what you do and you find

34:24

new places for those people to work or

34:26

they can use their expertise. Yeah. It's really

34:28

fun to see some of the new technology

34:31

come into the manufacturing sector and to see

34:33

what we can do with it in our

34:35

side of the world. So yeah, that's cool.

34:37

It's been fun to watch. Do you guys

34:40

get worried about like any of the tariff

34:42

stuff or anything like that? I mean, we're

34:44

kind of dealing with that right now. you

34:46

know honest question I mean I don't know

34:49

everyone probably is out there everybody's been asking

34:51

lately our dealers been asking trying to figure

34:53

out you know where does it leave them

34:55

at and honestly I don't think it's gonna

34:58

be real bad we're probably gonna see a

35:00

small price increase sure but a minimal stuff

35:02

though because I mean you guys are doing

35:04

it all in America yeah we do a

35:07

lot of it's American made there are some

35:09

trailer parts that are that are come from

35:11

different parts of the So we'll have a

35:13

price increase, but it's not gonna be a

35:16

major price increase. It's not gonna be 25%

35:18

like a lot of people have been worried

35:20

about out there. But yes, we will have,

35:22

I think we're gonna probably see around a

35:25

5% price increase and. You know, it is

35:27

what it is. It's for the time being.

35:29

That all, I don't know, I have faith

35:31

maybe. I have faith too that it's all

35:34

gonna come back around and, you know, at

35:36

the end of the day, it is what

35:38

it is. We're not talking Ukrainian made trailers

35:40

here, maybe. We're talking Aluma. Yeah, American made.

35:43

There's a new plug in there somehow. You

35:45

getting your trailer from Russia? No. American made.

35:47

Good Iowa product. We're made right here. There's

35:49

a fun. Really loud 4th of July ad

35:52

that I can read for you guys if

35:54

you're interested There you go call me I

35:56

can do it the same thing with the

35:58

acid wash videos. I'm full of ideas You

36:01

know I want to go back with a

36:03

whole bunch of new stuff. Yeah, I'm gonna

36:05

go back with a whole bunch of new

36:07

stuff Yeah, I'm gonna blow your guys as

36:10

mine when you're like you're a genius. Where'd

36:12

you come up with all this stuff? Yeah,

36:14

I think We would love maybe guys come

36:16

out and visit. Yeah. I want to see

36:19

Eric weld against some of the welders at

36:21

Aluma. That'd be fun. I ain't that good.

36:23

I want to see a weld off. A

36:25

weld off? Yeah. Give me a hood. Let's

36:28

go. Let me and Kirk get in there

36:30

too. You made a little bit ago. It

36:32

looked pretty neat. Yeah. You and I can

36:34

jump in, so I can jump in, so

36:37

I can jump in, so I can really

36:39

make Eric look really good. Yeah. Could we

36:41

do that? Could we have a little. We

36:43

can set it. We can set it up.

36:46

We can set it up. We can set

36:48

it up. You guys come up. You guys

36:50

come up. You guys come up. You guys

36:52

come up. You guys come up. You guys

36:55

come out. You guys come out. You guys

36:57

come out. You guys come out. Probably

37:00

you for sure. I'm better we'll learn

37:02

Doug. I know that. Doug can't even

37:04

back up a trailer. What are we

37:06

talking about? That's true He's not here,

37:08

so we got to make fun. Oh

37:11

do a weld off and then a

37:13

trailer backing competition just test our manhood

37:15

He will lose the trailer backing up.

37:17

He will lose the trailer backing up

37:19

for sure I'll lose it just because

37:21

under a break. We just coming to

37:23

rest We can even get it and

37:26

we can record it so you guys

37:28

can have even more fun. There we

37:30

go. Jordan will come in. That's a

37:32

great idea. We'll just disrupt the entire

37:34

day of work and a lit month.

37:36

Don't bring those guys back. We got

37:38

nothing done today. We show up with

37:41

beer like shut that damn robot or

37:43

let that robot do all the well

37:45

and get out here on well. Cooking

37:47

hot dogs in the parking lot. We

37:49

probably leave pretty cool to the Lumo.

37:51

Oh well. Did they actually cost us?

37:53

We're here for the people. They'll get

37:56

over here, right? Yeah, that's right. That's

37:58

right. See, I'd be interested in doing

38:00

that because I've never welded aluminum. Oh,

38:02

it's finicky. I never have either. I

38:04

bet it'd be easy to burn through

38:06

on that. Because you guys do all

38:08

mega welding there, right? All wire. No

38:11

tag welding, right? So what's, break it

38:13

down a little bit from your perspective.

38:15

Yeah. With a TIG welder you got

38:17

a foot pedal, a torch, and filler

38:19

wire, so you're doing three things at

38:21

once, you know. The way they're doing

38:24

it is way more efficient and faster.

38:26

Yeah, see I've never, I've never done

38:28

that. I've never done TIG. Machines have

38:30

changed so much too. You know, our

38:32

production managers back at the factory could,

38:34

you know, they're, they're a lot more

38:36

about it than I'll ever dream of.

38:39

But they, they're always looking at, you

38:41

know, you know, you know, what technology

38:43

is out, you know, There's always new

38:45

mixtures of gas and stuff that the

38:47

companies that provide us with that product

38:49

are looking at. New wires, there's new

38:51

wires, there's all kinds of stuff when

38:54

it comes to welding. You think it's

38:56

really simple, but there's really a lot

38:58

to it from the engineering standpoint of

39:00

it. What you can do with the

39:02

computer programming on engineering and being able

39:04

to print 3D models. Now we can

39:06

print. we can come up with conceptual

39:09

ideas and the R&D side of it

39:11

and then we can go back and

39:13

print the 3D pieces of it and

39:15

see how it's all going to fit

39:17

together. Aluma's not using very many common

39:19

shapes and sizes. Almost all of our

39:22

product if you look at it is

39:24

put together with the extrusions that our

39:26

engineering team is designed. And so that's

39:28

really what separates us from kind of

39:30

some of our competitors out there. And

39:32

having the 3D. printing process being able

39:34

to do that really help speed up

39:37

that process and made it a lot

39:39

more efficient so nice it's fun to

39:41

watch that stuff and oh yeah again

39:43

to see what technology is doing it's

39:45

it's really neat yeah I just find

39:47

that type of conversation interesting because most

39:49

people listening to this are gonna work

39:52

I mean I bet you a good

39:54

percentage of our listeners kind of work

39:56

in a field similar to like what

39:58

we're talking about not exactly we have

40:00

a ton of welders that listen a

40:02

ton of well there's a ton of

40:04

guys that work in like factories so

40:07

stuff so I think it's it's good

40:09

to focus on that type of thing

40:11

every once in a while because we

40:13

get into some of that with like

40:15

the tree stand mobile hunting stuff but

40:17

not everybody wants to talk about exactly

40:20

what they're what they're doing like There's

40:22

a new product. I don't know if

40:24

it's a new product technically from a

40:26

material standpoint. Magnight is what it's called

40:28

and it's like, it's new to the

40:30

hunting industry. It's this ultra-light stronger than

40:32

aluminum, lighter than aluminum type product and

40:35

it's like a... I don't even understand

40:37

it to be honest with you, but

40:39

it's bad ass. It's like a blend

40:41

of metals pretty much. But a lot

40:43

of them they do it like now.

40:45

They're doing like the forms it's just

40:47

talk about this. So I don't, so

40:50

I just caught myself on. Might want

40:52

to stop. Yeah, I'm going to stop.

40:54

It's not the, see, that's the way,

40:56

I'm proving my point exactly is they

40:58

don't want to talk about it all

41:00

the time and like their process and

41:02

how they manufacture and stuff. Yeah, never

41:05

mind. I can't even make my point.

41:07

You know, there's a lot of things

41:09

and people just say, well, it's a

41:11

welding job. There's really not any, it's

41:13

just a welding job. They go through

41:15

we go through quite a training process

41:18

at our facility when they come in

41:20

especially with aluminum Yeah, and and there's

41:22

a lot to it Yeah, it's not

41:24

something that that everybody can do it

41:26

takes someone that's that's got that knack

41:28

and that can yeah, because like with

41:30

aluminum I mean when you're well and

41:33

steel you can have your settings Close,

41:35

you can get by with it with

41:37

aluminum. It's got to be your setting.

41:39

You've got to be doing that to

41:41

ask to make that so to it

41:43

so there's a lot more to it

41:45

than people think there's The welders that

41:48

are really good at it. It's a

41:50

it's a it's a talent to have

41:52

that. Yeah, you don't want me in

41:54

there with a stick well or just

41:56

bird. I was just trying to keep

41:58

it going to get into that, I

42:00

think. Just trying to keep it going.

42:03

Yeah, I don't know. It is. There's

42:05

definitely a skill to it. And guys

42:07

that are good. You can tell guys

42:09

that are good. And guys that are

42:11

good. You can tell guys that are

42:13

good. And guys that are good. And

42:16

guys that are good. And guys that

42:18

are good. And guys who are just

42:20

are just trying to be fun. A

42:22

lot of guys would want to see

42:24

that. I'm a shit welder. Like I

42:26

can do it. I'm not very good

42:28

out of it either. I'm a farmer

42:31

welder dude. I've been used to like

42:33

an old arc machine. That's what I

42:35

grew up on. I just started using

42:37

a wig like two years ago and

42:39

I have done very minimal work with

42:41

it. I'm a rookie. I have done

42:43

very minimal work with it so I'm

42:46

a rookie. I have done very minimal

42:48

work with it so I have. I

42:50

have done very minimal work. I'm like.

42:52

two years ago. It's that recent? Yeah,

42:54

like stick welding. I mean, as far

42:56

as I know. So it just takes

42:58

like the extra hand with the filler

43:01

rod and puts it all. No, that's

43:03

tape welding. Stick welding is like where

43:05

you put the stick in the stinger.

43:07

I know that what I'm saying. Where

43:09

you put the stick in the stinger.

43:11

I know that what I'm saying. Where

43:14

you put the stick in the stinger.

43:16

I know what I'm saying. It kind

43:18

of replaces the filler. It kind of

43:20

replaces the filler. It's weird. See, that's

43:22

just, I don't, I'd have to do

43:24

it. I'm screwed all up. You guys

43:26

have to have fun coming to the

43:29

factory. It sounds like it, right? We're

43:31

all just talking, oh yeah, back to,

43:33

sorry, Al, back to trailer. It's just,

43:35

you know, it's in that blue collar,

43:37

like DNA, you know, it's just kind

43:39

of neat. Like, you know, I must

43:41

draw some of that a deer, but

43:44

it's like, all that broke, just get

43:46

it's just get it. back to one

43:48

piece of metal again. It's right. Stick

43:50

it back together. Just hit it with

43:52

green paint while it's still hot. Again,

43:54

that's why I'm a wilder not a

43:56

carpenter because I can't weld wood back

43:59

together. Yeah, that's a whole deal. But

44:01

yeah, I mean, Aluma's got everything for

44:03

everybody pretty much. We do. If you

44:05

go, if you look at some of

44:07

the products that we just came out

44:09

with recently, there may be a little

44:12

bit more regional. We've got a drive

44:14

over Fender product that when you go

44:16

out west, that product's been really, really

44:18

popular. Some of the sand buggies and

44:20

they can put those on the drive

44:22

over Fender product. You can actually one

44:24

right here. Yeah, we do it in

44:27

a single axle, which is really awesome

44:29

and a 15 foot single, and we

44:31

also do it in a tandem axle

44:33

all the way up to a 28

44:35

foot long. So you can load multiple

44:37

machines on it. It's just a neat

44:39

product that that drive over fenders, a

44:41

neat extrusion that we're using

44:43

there that our engineering team

44:45

designed. If you've got a bigger

44:47

vehicle like that. like a raptor or

44:49

something like that that you want to haul.

44:51

It's got the ability to have, you can

44:54

drive over it and still have it

44:56

on an open trailer, which a lot

44:58

of times you haven't been able to

45:00

do with the aluminum trailers anyway. Sure.

45:02

So, pretty neat product. Yeah, it's

45:05

sweet. It's very cool. It's definitely

45:07

come in handy. Has alum ever

45:09

talked about doing enclosed trailers or

45:11

have you guys ever in the

45:13

past? We used to build enclosed

45:15

trailers. Why'd you laugh at that question

45:17

now? Because we're still getting asked all

45:19

the time if we're going to go

45:21

back and build and close trailers. But

45:23

we're really happy right now in the

45:26

segment of the market that we're in

45:28

doing. We're really focused on all open

45:30

trailers and trying to provide our dealers

45:32

and our customers with the very best

45:34

from a small trailer. We started a 486

45:36

model, which is 4 foot by 6 foot.

45:38

all the way up to deck over 30

45:41

foot trailers and the 14 K trailers just

45:43

like what you guys just got. So we're

45:45

really focused on that side of the market.

45:47

We made that decision a little

45:49

bit before COVID and I think

45:52

it's been a good decision for

45:54

a limb. It just gave us the

45:56

opportunity to really zone in on

45:58

that segment of the market. Yeah,

46:00

right. And get even more specialized there. So,

46:02

yeah, I had to ask, you know, we

46:04

see a lot of enclosed trailers. Yeah, and

46:06

I'm gonna hear about it. I'll hear about

46:09

it from all those guys that wanted an

46:11

aluminum closed yet. I was one of them.

46:13

I wanted one more of them and I

46:16

never got to be. Man, you buff that

46:18

baby up and be like walking up and

46:20

looking in a mirror. Like, hunting camp rigs

46:22

where you can like, oh, we're just going

46:25

to sleep in the in the trailer. far

46:27

out west hunting you know it's like let's

46:29

crawl into the aluma and close trailer yeah

46:31

it's got a good ring to it the

46:34

there's a lot of guys you used them

46:36

to haul decoys with you know stuff like

46:38

that it was they were handy they're really

46:40

handy that is nice I had to ask

46:43

yeah yeah the initial responses a laugh don't

46:45

ask that but yeah man I'm stoked on

46:47

it I think it's uh exciting I'm sure

46:49

there's a lot of hunters that work at

46:52

aluma We got a lot of hunters there

46:54

from both guys and gals at her hunters

46:56

fact One of the gals that works upstairs

46:59

in the sales office is a hunter and

47:01

and So she was interested when we were

47:03

doing the she found out we're doing the

47:05

first podcast So I brought her along. Yeah,

47:08

so shout out to Megan. She's she's a

47:10

hunter. Hi Megan. That's cool. Sorry you got

47:12

to work with all the guys of the

47:14

loom. I'm sure they're great Yeah, she'll quit

47:17

listening or if she listed the one it

47:19

might be the only one she's ever listened

47:21

to. She's a good sport so she will

47:23

come into the well and disrupt the piece

47:26

of the luma and she'll be like never

47:28

bring those idiots here again. Scoot down there

47:30

a little bit. I want to talk about

47:32

these these beds these flat beds. Yeah luma

47:35

also builds a truck bed. Yeah, luma also

47:37

builds a truck bed that we do a

47:39

lot of them that go on people that

47:41

have pickups that want to take the box

47:44

off and we sell a lot of beds

47:46

for that purpose. We also actually do a

47:48

UTV bed. Wow. Oh shit. That's sharp. People

47:51

come back to us that had maybe damaged

47:53

their factory bed on it or wanted having

47:55

a little more versatility where they could take

47:57

the sides on and off. Yeah. That'd be

48:00

nice. We just came with that product. So

48:02

that's huge. So it's kind of cool. So

48:04

that could be like a box and a

48:06

flatbed for your side by side. Yeah. Yeah.

48:09

Yeah. on the side by sides. They fit

48:11

on any side by side or do you

48:13

make them for the... We tried to make

48:15

it as universal as we possibly could. There's...

48:18

That one says 60 by 45 for the

48:20

dimensions. Yeah, the bed size is pretty easy

48:22

to get fairly universal to mounting of it.

48:24

It's going to take a little bit of

48:27

fabrication from the dealer side or from the

48:29

person installing it. But I'm not... I mean,

48:31

we tried to make it again as universal

48:34

as we can. So some of the mounting

48:36

brackets and stuff can slide on it. fabrication

48:38

that needs to be done depending on the

48:40

machine that you're putting it on right right

48:43

there's so many different kinds of machines out

48:45

there and even if you go like you

48:47

know players has a very large market share

48:49

you go from one players to another there's

48:52

different yeah they can be a little bit

48:54

different yeah they can be just a little

48:56

bit different and so you have to do

48:58

a little fabrication that's awesome though that'd be

49:01

the shit for a deer in the back

49:03

of the side yeah yeah yeah I'm looking

49:05

at some of the weights on these on

49:07

these on these flat Right that is light

49:10

and it's it's all aluminum construction there all

49:12

LED lights One neat thing about our truck

49:14

beds is they have a sliding rail system

49:16

underneath so it doesn't you can put it

49:19

on any Any chassis okay, rather it's a

49:21

Ford Chevy Dodge whatever It can go on

49:23

in and the neat thing about is let's

49:26

say you're driving a Chevy today and next

49:28

time you trade you trade for a Ford

49:30

or a Dodge or whatever you can take

49:32

it off put on that one and move

49:35

it and move it over right no shit

49:37

I'm gonna be in the market for one

49:39

of them here, so... You put it on

49:41

the Chevy? It's a neat product. What's my

49:44

box for us? Oh yeah. How's gonna build

49:46

one? But I'm like, hell, this is a

49:48

way better idea. Hey, we can take care

49:50

of you, yeah. Dude, that's sweet. That look

49:53

awesome. I mean, what my favorite is, and

49:55

you see a little Ford rain. that's awesome.

49:57

The flatbed thing is we have a lot

49:59

of that. That's amazing. Picnic tables and benches.

50:02

We're trying to get picnic tables. We do

50:04

a lot of picnic tables. If you want

50:06

a picnic table it's going to last your

50:09

lifetime that one is that one is it.

50:11

And then going nowhere. That's awesome. The flatbed

50:13

thing is intriguing. It is. I like that.

50:15

And then you can do all the upgrades

50:18

of the accessories and stuff like that. front

50:20

side racks, front rock guards, or side rack

50:22

kits that you can do. We do side

50:24

rack kits from a 12 inch solid side

50:27

rack kit up to a 24 inch solid

50:29

side rack kits. go back to talking about

50:31

like guys that are going to throw decoys

50:33

in they can throw those in with a

50:36

side rack kits on there and keep their

50:38

loads secured that way yeah yeah I've seen

50:40

some guys do that and it works really

50:42

well for them it's kind of cool yeah

50:45

you offer all these options too if someone

50:47

buys one and then they want to add

50:49

it on later that's one thing that's kind

50:51

of neat if you buy a trailer today

50:54

and two years from now you want to

50:56

add a side rack kit you can do

50:58

that yeah that's cool It's very cool. I'll

51:01

have to get our trailer off. It's already

51:03

pimped out. I don't really do anything to

51:05

it. I'm going to be worried more about

51:07

the trailer than I am anything else that's

51:10

going to be with it, the tractor or

51:12

the truck, you know. So they're rolling in

51:14

style. I'm not really used to the tilt

51:16

trailer, but we were talking about it out

51:19

there. It's got a valve on it that

51:21

you can kind of adjust the speed of

51:23

how... fast the tilt comes down on it.

51:25

Yeah, you can do that and you can

51:28

also lock it. You know, one of the

51:30

things that people talk about with a tilt

51:32

trailer is they're like, well, we want to

51:34

use it for multiple items. Well, a lot

51:37

of times with the old style tilts, you

51:39

put something on there as soon as you

51:41

got the weight over center that that tilt

51:43

bed's going down, then you couldn't load your

51:46

second piece of equipment or whatever you wanted

51:48

to. Yeah. This particular valve gives you the

51:50

ability to lock it in the so you

51:53

can load your first piece of equipment on

51:55

and keep it in that upright position, come

51:57

back, load your second piece on, then let

51:59

the valve bring the bed. down so yeah

52:02

it works really well it's it's a nice

52:04

feature on there so when you get off

52:06

and you undo the latches you just hit

52:08

that valve and it'll tilt it and then

52:11

actually when you you didn't tilt it manually

52:13

you just tilt it manually step on the

52:15

back it will come down nice and gradual

52:17

it's all hydraulic system so on that trailer

52:20

that you got you can step on the

52:22

back bring it down if you walk up

52:24

to the front of the trailer it'll come

52:26

down nice and slow just like if you

52:29

were loading your skid loader on it, a

52:31

tractor on it, a vehicle on it, as

52:33

you come up, once you hit that center

52:36

of gravity, you've got the vehicle up there,

52:38

it'll just nice and slowly come down. Cool.

52:40

Got a quission down. Sweet. That'd be nice

52:42

with the, like a skid steer that I

52:45

have that's got tracks on it. on a

52:47

traditional trailer you got that hump and you

52:49

come up when you're always feel like you're

52:51

going to go over backwards and with something

52:54

like this it'd be so nice for loading

52:56

it first time on a tell trailer with

52:58

anything you feel like because you're straight the

53:00

air you know is it going to go

53:03

down is it going to go down is

53:05

it finally starts to go like you're worried

53:07

there for a second yeah that's nice yeah

53:09

it's going to be like Cadillac you're going

53:12

to have fun with it Yeah, oh I

53:14

can't wait man, that's, I mean shit, what

53:16

are we talking here? Next, I'll put borderline

53:18

in right after we chase some turkeys, so

53:21

about a month, a lot of borderline in.

53:23

Yep. This nice weather makes me feel like

53:25

I'm behind. Yeah, well you'll want to test

53:28

it out, you'll put the mower on and

53:30

go out and do some mowing and... Yeah,

53:32

probably this weekend. Yeah, you know. Like it's

53:34

gonna be a problem. Oh yeah, I love

53:37

it. A good problem. It's a good problem.

53:39

It's a good problem. It's a great problem.

53:41

So yeah, except for the pressure on my

53:43

farm, we're gonna be out there pushing shit

53:46

around. Diesel you're gonna be going through because

53:48

you're just driving around with this thing. Oh,

53:50

it just makes it easier. But I'll just

53:52

makes it easier. But I'll be honest, man,

53:55

like sometimes loading everything. Like sometimes loading everything,

53:57

it's going to be fun. and we got

53:59

you a bottle. I know you can't drink

54:01

it because you're at work. But when you

54:04

get home or if you can have this

54:06

at the office for the guys, we got

54:08

you a bottle of our kill bottle whiskey.

54:11

All right. So that's from Ledrock Distillery up

54:13

in Wisconsin. Cool. Thank you guys. Yeah. So

54:15

wanted you to have that for coming out.

54:17

I might know somebody that likes bourbon. You

54:20

think so? I'm sure there's a couple guys

54:22

over at the limb when they like it.

54:24

It's a great old-fashioned. There we go. So

54:26

hopefully like that. We were up in Wisconsin

54:29

last weekend. You know, by the time this

54:31

airs, it won't seem like last weekend, but

54:33

we sold almost 300 bottles of that stuff.

54:35

That's really cool. So pretty pretty thankful for

54:38

everybody supporting it. It's a good bourbon. I

54:40

think everyone doubts that it's good because it's

54:42

our names on it, but... That should be

54:44

the best that way, right? That's right. Yeah,

54:47

but as good as our podcasts, it's good

54:49

for some people and not good for others.

54:51

Good thing, the guy that's distilling, it knows

54:53

what he's doing. That's right. Yeah, he really

54:56

does. He cares. He's a passionate, passionate guy.

54:58

Pretty neat too. That's coming from Wisconsin, so.

55:00

Yeah, fondolac. Close to home. Close to home.

55:03

We had one guy like, you know it

55:05

can't be bourbon if it's not from Kentucky.

55:07

Like, shut up. It tastes like bourbon. It's

55:09

bourbon. Yeah. Some people are just crazy. Yeah.

55:12

So check your guys as partnership. We appreciate

55:14

it too. Hope everybody can use our trailers

55:16

and enjoy them out in the field and

55:18

we love hearing the stories back from how

55:21

people do use them. So yeah. If you

55:23

ever want to send pictures back, we love

55:25

seeing that at the factory. The people that

55:27

work in the factory love seeing what the

55:30

trailers that they're building every day are being

55:32

used for. Yeah. And it's fun to see

55:34

how they're actually putting them in. to a

55:36

day-to-day use. Yeah, for sure. All the different

55:39

things that they're able to use them for.

55:41

Okay, I'm gonna write this down. My goal

55:43

for the middle, we do a hunting camp

55:46

every November, we call Middle-the-map hunt crew. We

55:48

have people from out of town come and

55:50

hunt with us and, or not really with

55:52

us, but in the area, you know. And

55:55

sometimes, not in the area, they just stay

55:57

here. and make we make camp out of

55:59

it. We'll see if we kill some deer

56:01

in like a two three day span we

56:04

still have the deer hanging what to get

56:06

them all on this trailer. That'd be cool

56:08

to see. And do like a buck photo

56:10

of like a bunch of deer lined up

56:13

on the aluma. We should deck the alumma

56:15

out for the parade. Oh yeah. For the

56:17

parade. Do a little float. Yeah. That's a

56:19

good idea. That thing's long enough. We could.

56:22

pull a couple side by sides up on

56:24

it and have half the crew and the

56:26

side by sides and the kids and that'd

56:28

be fun. It could be a good time.

56:31

Okay. Something to think about that. Yeah. Put

56:33

a pink, get a pink table from. You

56:35

got us in there. There's pictures. Yeah, yeah.

56:38

The parade's right here done the main drag

56:40

so it's kind of fun. There you go.

56:42

It's a neat thing. Yeah, well to figure

56:44

that a lot of cool things we could

56:47

do, you know, you know, you know, you

56:49

know, you know, so. But yeah, anything you

56:51

want to plug for it, get out here?

56:53

Not to cut a short... You know, again,

56:56

we appreciate our partnership with you guys as

56:58

well, and all of our customers that are

57:00

hunters out there. We appreciate you guys using

57:02

our trailers, and it's a good American-made product.

57:05

That's right. Thanks, man. You bet. Thank you.

57:07

Aluma, we're coming for you. Aluma, Weldoff. with

57:09

W.C.B. and do they're embarrassed to shit out

57:11

of ourselves at the factory making America's funniest

57:14

home videos right here. It's like one of

57:16

those idiots came up here and tried to

57:18

weld against us. My walls are the shittiest.

57:21

Eric caved under the pressure. Turn the gas

57:23

off. Yeah, just bad. Yeah. What do you

57:25

have? What do you got Austin? Oh man,

57:27

that was fun. Looking forward to using the

57:30

product and that's an exciting partnership. We'll let

57:32

you borrow it. See. I appreciate that. Because

57:34

I know you're going to buy one. I'll

57:36

use it for sure. We'll be looking forward

57:39

to all your guys' feedback after you've had

57:41

a chance to use it. Yeah, we're excited.

57:43

Cool. You got anything? No, we're good. All

57:45

right. Thanks everybody for tuning in, watching, and

57:48

listening. You know what to do. Go shoot

57:50

your bow. Later.
