Welcome to Unwilling To Settle Presentations. In 2007, I purchased the domain name UnwillingToSettle.com. I have always believed that being Unwilling To Settle is a major part of personal development and improvement. Let me explain with a story.
Over 150 years ago, families packed everything they owned into a covered wagon. They hooked the wagon to a team of horses, mules or oxen. They set off on a journey. They left everything comfortable behind them because they had a dream, goal and a destination. Invariably, something would go wrong. A wheel would fall off, an axle would break or a horse, mule or oxen would die.
A few would do whatever it would take to fix what was wrong. They would continue on their journey. Many, however, would look around at where they had broken down and say, “this doesn’t look bad, I think I will SETTLE here.” At the first sign of adversity, many of us decide to settle.
Whenever I think of settling, I think of the sand in a fishbowl. It is always on the bottom. It NEVER rises to the top. Our goal is to provide the knowledge and tools to allow individuals and organizations to grow, improve and rise to the top. We do this through real life examples of what worked and what has failed in leadership and life. At the foundation of this message is increased Education, Engagement and Accountability.
