back to Dark Poutine. I

1:22

am Mike Brown in Langley,

British Columbia and in

1:26

Vancouver, I see my

1:29

friend, Matthew. How are

1:31

you today, Matthew? Still gay. Still

1:34

gay? So

1:36

that hasn't changed. No one's, no

1:38

one's prayed the gay away for you. I

1:43

keep praying that you'll turn straight, Matthew,

1:45

but it doesn't happen. You do not.

1:47

No, I don't. I was talking to

1:49

another friend yesterday and I just was

1:51

like, I have so many gay friends.

1:54

I have so many straight friends. Isn't that

1:56

weird? Actually, most of my friends are straight.

1:59

It's really funny. Most of your friends

2:01

are gay, most of my friends are straight.

2:03

It's hilarious. It doesn't make any sense, but

2:05

okay. Here we are. Or maybe it does.

3:59

the quiet city of Mon- Longton, New Brunswick

4:01

was shaken to its core by a brutal

4:03

crime that would leave an indelible mark on

4:05

the community. 18-year-old Bailey

4:08

Wiley was found dead in a

4:10

burned-out townhouse, the victim of a

4:12

horrific murder that shocked residents and

4:14

sparked a manhunt for those responsible.

4:17

Three young individuals, who Bailey thought

4:20

were his friends, were ultimately charged

4:22

for their roles in his death.

4:24

Marissa Shepard, 20 at the time,

4:26

along with Devon Morningstar and Tyler

4:29

Knoll, both 18. The

4:31

gruesome nature of the crime, Bailey had

4:33

been tied to a chair beaten and

4:35

stabbed approximately 200 times,

4:38

sent shockwaves throughout Moncton. The

4:41

murder and subsequent trials captivated the

4:43

region with media coverage detailing the

4:45

drug-fueled night that ended in tragedy.

4:48

The community grappled with the senseless

4:50

loss of a young life and

4:52

the disturbing actions of the perpetrators.

4:56

In this episode, we'll explore the

4:58

events leading up to that fateful

5:00

night, the impact on Bailey's family

5:02

and the wider Moncton community, as

5:04

well as the following quest for

5:06

justice. Join us as we

5:08

examine one of the most notorious crimes

5:10

in recent New Brunswick history. This

5:13

is Dark Poutine episode 345, particularly cruel, the

5:15

murder of Bailey Wiley. Moncton

5:26

is located in southeastern New Brunswick,

5:28

and it traces its origins back

5:30

to the early 18th century. Initially

5:34

inhabited by the Mi'kmaq First Nation,

5:36

French Acadians later settled the area

5:38

in 1698. These

5:41

settlers established a community known as

5:43

L'Coude, or the Elbow, due to

5:46

its location at a bend in

5:48

the Pedekodiak River. However, in 1755,

5:52

during the British military campaigns

5:54

led by Lieutenant Colonel Robert

5:56

Moncton, the Acadians were expelled

5:58

from the region. transportation

8:00

and telecommunications in Atlantic

8:02

Canada. It is

8:05

home to significant cultural institutions

8:07

like Université de Moncton and

8:10

features unique attractions such as

8:12

Magnetic Hill and the

8:14

Tidal Boar on the Pedicodiac River. The

8:17

city's history of resilience and

8:20

adaptation continues to shape its

8:22

vibrant community and economy. As

8:25

of the 2021 census, Moncton

8:27

had a population of 79,470 people, making

8:31

it the most populous city in New

8:34

Brunswick. The city is

8:36

part of a larger metropolitan

8:38

area known as the Greater

8:40

Moncton Census Metropolitan Area, CMA,

8:42

which includes nearby cities and towns

8:45

such as Dieppe and Riverview. In

8:47

2022, the CMA's population was

8:49

estimated at 171,608, reflecting

8:54

a significant growth rate of 5.3% from the

8:56

previous year, making

8:59

it the fastest growing CMA in

9:01

Canada during that period. Yeah,

9:03

so it's a city but not a very

9:06

large one. It probably, I've never been but

9:08

I'd assume a city

9:10

that size kind of has more

9:12

of a big town feel to it.

9:14

Moncton's pretty small compared to Vancouver

9:16

or Toronto. But even Vancouver to me

9:18

just feels like a big town.

9:20

After Moscow, London, Paris, it's like it

9:23

feels like a small place to me.

9:25

While Moncton is generally considered a safe

9:27

city, it has not been immune to

9:29

crime and tragedy. One of

9:31

the most shocking incidents in recent history

9:33

occurred on June 4th, 2014, when

9:37

the city was rocked by a series

9:39

of shootings that left three RCMP officers

9:42

dead and two others wounded. This

9:45

tragic event known as the Moncton

9:47

Mountie Murders unfolded over just 20

9:49

minutes and led to

9:51

a tense 29-hour manhunt for the

9:53

gunman. We covered

9:56

this incident in Episode 12. We

9:59

also explored... that

16:01

struggled in their own youth and got into a

16:03

little bit of trouble or some more, some less.

16:07

But a lot

16:09

of them, the ones I know, came out

16:11

the other end, sort of grew up eventually

16:13

and realized and found acceptance.

16:15

And it's just sad that Bailey

16:19

never got the chance to move

16:21

beyond this. He was still a

16:23

teenager and he's gone. Yeah. Bailey

16:26

faced difficulties as he began

16:28

experimenting with drugs. Initially

16:31

starting with marijuana, he soon

16:33

progressed to harder substances. His

16:36

mother Amanda noted that this shift

16:38

in behavior was not immediately apparent.

16:41

Bailey sought freedom and independence but became

16:43

involved with a new group of friends

16:46

after moving back to Moncton. This

16:49

new circle introduced him to a

16:51

lifestyle that ramped up his recreational

16:53

drug use. By

16:55

October 2015 Bailey was 18 and

16:58

living with his girlfriend Marissa

17:00

Shepard in a rented, provincially

17:02

subsidized townhouse at 96 Sumac

17:04

Street. It was the middle

17:06

unit of a triplex of townhouses. The

17:09

townhouse had two floors above ground and

17:12

a basement. The bedrooms were on

17:14

the top floor and the kitchen and living room

17:16

were on the ground floor. It

17:18

was a bit of a flophouse and people moved

17:20

in and out in the time that Marissa was

17:23

there. Marissa's home functioned

17:25

as a hub for drug use

17:27

and other unsavory activities. It was

17:29

there that Bailey became involved with

17:31

sex work. Despite concerns

17:33

from his mother and other friends who

17:35

supported him as much as possible, Bailey

17:38

was strong willed and made his own decisions.

17:41

He was introduced to this way of

17:43

life by his girlfriend Marissa and his

17:45

cousin Taylor who were already making money

17:47

by way of sex work. He

17:50

liked the easy money and used

17:52

the cash for personal expenses and

17:54

buying drugs. According

17:56

to various reports, Marissa Shepard led

17:58

a troubled life. There

20:00

were other hangers on around as well. One

20:03

of the more recent additions in December of 2015

20:05

was Devin Morningstar. He'd

20:09

just broken up with his longtime girlfriend and

20:12

needed a place to stay. As

20:14

he was dealing drugs at the time, he

20:16

was more than welcome to crash at Marissa's

20:19

place. Devin Morningstar's life before

20:21

the murder of Bailey Wiley is

20:23

marked by a troubled upbringing and

20:25

series of challenges that may have

20:27

influenced his later actions. Born

20:30

and raised in Moncton, Morningstar experienced

20:32

a difficult childhood. His

20:34

family life was unstable, with his parents

20:36

divorcing when he was young. As

20:39

a teenager, Devin struggled with

20:41

various issues, including substance abuse.

20:43

His involvement with drugs also

20:45

connected him to a network

20:47

of individuals who were doing

20:49

the same things. Despite

20:52

these challenges, Devin attempted to

20:54

pursue education by enrolling in

20:57

GED courses, suggesting a

20:59

desire to improve his circumstances. However,

21:02

the influence of his social circle

21:04

and the allure of quick financial

21:07

gains through drug-related activities overshadowed these

21:09

efforts. The last

21:11

few days before Bailey Wiley's death were

21:14

filled with heavy drug use, mostly crack,

21:16

and sex between the four friends. Tensions

21:19

arose over who had been intimate

21:21

with Marissa Shepard, according to the

21:24

remaining witnesses, leading to arguments and

21:26

jealousy among the group. Devin

21:29

Morningstar reportedly had sexual relations with

21:31

Marissa upon his arrival at the

21:33

townhouse when she invited him to

21:35

shower with her. Bailey,

21:38

jealous of Marissa's attention to the

21:40

other men, also claimed to

21:42

have had sex with both Devin and

21:44

Tyler, which they both

21:46

denied angrily. The night that

21:49

Devin arrived, Bailey allegedly recorded

21:51

video and photographs of himself,

21:53

performing oral sex on a

21:56

highly intoxicated Tyler Knoll. Knoll

26:00

and Marissa Shepard left Bailey Wiley

26:02

in the basement and moved upstairs.

26:05

Despite his severe injuries, Bailey managed

26:07

to drag himself into the living

26:09

room and tried to escape. Devin

26:12

described how Tyler Knoll threw Bailey

26:14

onto the floor and stabbed him

26:17

repeatedly there. By this point, Bailey

26:19

Wiley was too incapacitated to escape

26:21

or defend himself and ultimately succumbed

26:24

to his injuries in the living

26:26

room shortly before 4 a.m. on

26:29

December 17th 2015. This

26:32

is so horrifyingly brutal, Mike.

26:34

You and I do not

26:36

often see such

26:39

brutality sustained like this in...

26:41

yeah, yeah, we see quick

26:43

brutality, right? And brutality and

26:45

it's all... it all... and same

26:48

thing, but this is just absolutely

26:50

disgusting what they were doing to

26:53

him. To conceal their crime, the

26:55

perpetrator set fire to Marissa Shepard's

26:57

unit and covered Bailey Wiley's body

27:00

with a box spring before fleeing

27:02

the scene. They were

27:04

picked up at around 4 a.m. by

27:06

a friend, Claude LeBlanc, and taken to

27:09

Devin Morningstar's house. Once

27:11

there, Tyler Knoll became anxious

27:13

after seeing Devin Morningstar whispering

27:15

to another friend, Bailey Fillmore.

27:19

Fearing that details of the night's

27:21

events might be shared, Tyler told

27:23

Marissa Shepard he wanted to kill

27:26

Devin and Fillmore to prevent any

27:28

information from spreading especially to the

27:30

police. Marissa later

27:32

claimed that she argued against this

27:35

plan of additional killing saying, no,

27:37

we're not killing anybody else, Tyler.

29:18

we are back, Matthew thought so far.

29:20

Yeah, yeah. I think Bailey's openness about

29:22

his bisexuality

29:25

combined with his claims, which

29:27

I think were true of intimacy with both

29:29

Devin and Trier, Tyler triggered

29:31

their fear and humiliation. I think,

29:34

you know, this environment is sort

29:36

of hypermasculine drug fueled. I

29:39

think Tyler and Devin were grappling

29:41

with their own insecurities about their

29:43

same sex interactions with Bailey and

29:46

reacted violently to protect their

29:49

fragile sense of

29:51

masculinity. And I think the extreme

29:53

brutality that I was pointing out and

29:56

efforts to cover up the crime come

29:58

from a place of deep shame. toxic

34:00

relationships and drug-fueled violence. His

34:02

statements during police interviews provide

34:04

a haunting insight into the

34:06

events leading up to Bailey

34:08

Wiley's tragic death. The

34:11

evidence suggested he'd been much more

34:13

involved than he was admitting. Of

34:15

course he was. He's dancing around the truth here.

34:17

It has nothing to do, in my

34:21

humble opinion, it has nothing

34:23

to do with who is having sex

34:26

with Marissa. It's the

34:28

fact that these two guys could have been exposed

34:30

for having sex with the guy so they murdered

34:32

him to keep it quiet. The

34:34

court proceedings against Devon Morningstar for

34:37

the murder of Bailey Wiley were

34:39

replete with intense emotions, especially of

34:41

Bailey Wiley's family and friends and

34:44

complex legal arguments in Devon's defense.

34:47

On November 11, 2016, a jury found

34:50

Devon Morningstar guilty of first-degree murder

34:52

and arson in the death of

34:55

18-year-old Bailey Wiley. The

34:57

verdict came after a three-week trial

34:59

during which the jury deliberated for

35:01

approximately 21 hours over three days.

35:04

Devon Morningstar was then 19 years

35:07

old when he was convicted of

35:09

participating in Bailey Wiley's brutal murder.

35:11

Throughout the trial, the prosecution and

35:14

defense presented starkly different narratives. The

35:17

Crown prosecutor Stephen Holt argued

35:19

that Devon Morningstar actively participated

35:21

in Bailey Wiley's forcible confinement

35:23

and stabbing, holding him down

35:25

while inflicting wounds. In

35:28

contrast, Devon Morningstar's defense attorney

35:30

Bob Rideout contended that Devon

35:32

was merely a fall guy

35:34

in a larger scheme orchestrated

35:36

by his co-accused Marissa Shepherd

35:38

and Tyler Noel. Despite

35:41

these claims, evidence such as Devon

35:43

Morningstar's own police interviews, where he

35:45

admitted to stabbing Wiley three times,

35:47

played a crucial role in securing

35:49

the conviction. The courtroom was filled

35:52

with emotion as the verdict was

35:54

read. Members of both

35:56

the Wiley and Morningstar families were

35:58

visibly affected. Wiley's family

36:00

expressed relief at the verdict by

36:03

releasing 18 blue balloons

36:05

in his memory. Meanwhile,

36:07

Devon Morningstar's mother expressed

36:09

her belief that her son should have

36:11

been convicted of manslaughter instead, citing

36:14

his lack of intent to commit murder.

36:17

Oh, mother's naivety in these situations

36:19

when their son is a killer.

36:23

We've seen it so many times. We have. I

36:25

saw it my own life. I mean, when

36:28

I was attacked by a

36:30

person and we had to go to court, the

36:32

mother, that person's mother didn't

36:34

believe that he had done what he,

36:36

what I was accusing him of doing,

36:38

although my broken teeth and nose indicated

36:41

otherwise. Yep. I

36:45

think my mom is the type of

36:47

person who would be like, no, he

36:49

did it, but she'd still love me.

36:51

Yeah. But she'd like turn me in.

36:53

Maybe it's the parenting that really plays

36:55

a part in this and maybe that

36:58

flag of parents who will protect a

37:00

child at all costs, even at the

37:02

cost of the truth. Yeah. Is what

37:04

creates people like this or helps to

37:06

create them. Maybe. Following the

37:08

verdict, Devon Morningstar was sentenced to life

37:11

in prison without the possibility of parole

37:13

for 25 years on January 11, 2017.

37:15

Before his sentencing, Devon Morningstar addressed

37:21

the court to express remorse for his

37:23

actions. During this time,

37:25

victim impact statements were read

37:27

highlighting the profound effect Bailey

37:29

Wiley's murder had on his

37:31

family. Angela Wiley, Bailey's

37:33

aunt, shared how she had struggled

37:35

with anxiety and depression since her

37:37

nephew's death. In the

37:39

aftermath of the trial, Devon Morningstar's family

37:42

announced plans to appeal the verdict, arguing

37:44

that not all facts had been revealed

37:46

during the trial. Meanwhile, co-accused

37:48

Marissa Shepherd and Tyler Noel

37:51

faced their own legal proceedings

37:53

related to Bailey Wiley's murder.

37:55

Tyler Noel had managed to evade capture

37:58

for several weeks, during which he was

38:00

believed to have been hiding at a

38:02

remote camp in Elgin, a

38:04

small community not far from Moncton.

38:06

The search for Tyler Noll was complicated

38:09

by the rugged terrain and harsh winter

38:11

conditions which provided ample cover for someone

38:13

on the run. Tyler's

38:15

arrest came after police received

38:18

a tip-off about his whereabouts.

38:21

He was apprehended without incident at

38:23

Pedekodiak, New Brunswick, a small village

38:26

known for its close-knit community and

38:28

rural surroundings. The

38:30

arrest brought some relief to the

38:32

community and to Bailey Wiley's family

38:34

who had been grappling with the

38:37

shock and horror of his murder.

38:39

The legal proceedings against Tyler Noll

38:41

were complex and involved multiple charges

38:43

and court appearances. Initially,

38:46

Tyler Noll was charged with first-degree

38:48

murder and arson. On

38:51

May 2nd, 2017, Tyler

38:53

Noll pleaded guilty to second-degree

38:55

murder and arson. By

38:57

pleading guilty to second-degree murder, Tyler

38:59

Noll accepted an automatic life sentence

39:01

with no possibility of parole for

39:03

at least 10 years. However,

39:06

the exact term for parole eligibility

39:08

was left to be determined by

39:10

the judge during a sentencing hearing

39:12

scheduled for July. During the court

39:15

proceedings, a statement of facts was

39:17

presented detailing the events leading up

39:19

to Bailey Wiley's death. It was

39:21

revealed that an argument over drugs

39:23

and personal relationships escalated into violence.

39:26

Tyler Noll admitted his role

39:29

in attacking Bailey alongside co-acused

39:31

Devon Morningstar and Marissa Shepherd.

39:34

The courtroom was filled with emotional

39:36

responses from Bailey's family as the

39:38

details were read aloud. On

39:41

July 13th, 2017, Justice Stephen

39:43

McNally sentenced Tyler Noll to life

39:46

in prison with no chance of

39:48

parole for 16 years.

39:50

This sentence also included a

39:52

concurrent three-year sentence for arson

39:54

with disregard for human life.

39:57

The judge considered Tyler Noll's ex-

39:59

extensive criminal history which included 34

40:02

prior convictions, mainly as a young

40:04

offender. The sentencing provided

40:07

some closure to Bayley Wiley's family,

40:09

although they needed time to process

40:11

the outcome. I

40:14

wonder as he gets older

40:16

and realizes that he's actually

40:18

gay if he will have

40:20

any real remorse for this. I wonder

40:22

that too. Marissa Shepard proved

40:24

to be a little more slippery than

40:26

her two co-accused. After

40:29

the murder, she went into hiding and was on the

40:31

run for two months. Marissa's

40:33

whereabouts were largely unknown to the

40:35

authorities during this time, although there

40:37

had been alleged sightings. She

40:40

was known to be using a fake name. The

40:43

police issued a Canada-wide warrant for

40:45

her arrest, and she was

40:47

considered armed and dangerous. Her

40:49

ability to remain at large suggested

40:52

that she had some support or

40:54

means to stay hidden, although details

40:56

about how she managed this are

40:58

not extensively documented in public records.

41:01

Police apprehended Marissa in March 2016 at a

41:03

Comfort Inn in Moncton. The

41:07

legal saga surrounding Marissa Shepard

41:09

and the brutal murder of

41:11

Bayley Wiley unfolded over several

41:14

years, captivating public attention and

41:16

highlighting the intricacies of the

41:18

Canadian justice system. The

41:20

initial trial in 2018 painted a grim

41:22

picture of the events leading to Bayley's

41:24

death. Prosecutors described a

41:26

night of drug-fueled violence that culminated

41:29

in the young man's torture and

41:31

murder. After a

41:33

grueling trial, the jury swiftly

41:35

reached a verdict, finding Marissa

41:37

Shepard guilty of first-degree murder

41:39

and arson with disregard for

41:41

human life. Just as Zoldy

41:43

Onn sentenced her to life in prison with no

41:45

chance of parole for 25 years, stating,

41:48

quote, the actions of Ms. Shepard

41:50

and her co-accused were nothing short

41:52

of brutal. This court cannot fathom

41:54

the terror and pain Mr. Wiley

41:56

must have endured in his final

41:58

hours, end quote. he

46:01

couldn't have had sort of the

46:03

rebellious time and come out the

46:05

other end. And

46:09

even though he was in the rebellious time and

46:11

doing drugs and doing the things he did, he's

46:14

the victim, right? And I'm sure

46:16

there's a lot of people that

46:18

would cast dispersions to him, but

46:20

he's an 18 year old kid

46:22

trying to just going through what

46:24

a lot of people go through,

46:27

and he 100% didn't deserve this. And I

46:29

just look at his face and I think

46:31

it just makes me sad he didn't

46:34

have the opportunity to come out of this, you know? Yeah.

that's the ad. You can go back to doing whatever you were doing

47:57

right. It's time for voicemails. You

48:01

can leave us a message at 1-877-327-5786 or 1-877-DARKPTN. We'd

48:09

love to hear from you. Let's see who called

48:11

us this week. Alright so

48:13

we've got three voicemails this week and one

48:16

person left two. But they're short

48:18

so we'll play both of them. So here

48:21

we go. Here's the first one. Hey

48:23

Mike, Matthew and Steve. It's

48:26

Chris. Second time caller.

48:29

First time I called was asking

48:31

why Schmucks was taken out of your

48:34

intro. And you guys addressed

48:36

that and I appreciate that. I

48:39

live in small town, landlocked

48:42

BC. Retired

48:44

now. And just

48:46

listening to your last episode, I was curious to

48:48

know if you guys have a map

48:52

of Canada and have pins

48:54

in all the locations that

48:57

you guys have picked your

48:59

cases from. And

49:02

if you don't, might be a good idea. Anyway,

49:05

have a great day. Go puke in

49:07

your toque. Bye.

49:11

Go puke in your toque. I

49:13

actually do not have a map

49:16

yet. I've been thinking about

49:18

doing a virtual map of

49:21

things, of places. So if

49:24

I could figure out how to do it, like you

49:26

would click on the map of

49:29

a province and it would embiggen,

49:32

you know, enlarge. And then you could

49:34

see the different places that

49:36

we've talked about in a province and you

49:38

could click on episode numbers. That

49:40

might be fun. That would be great. That

49:43

would be great. But it

49:45

takes work and I'm not

49:47

sure I have the bandwidth

49:49

to do that right now.

49:53

But yeah, I do want to have that

49:56

at some point. It would take a bit of

49:58

doing, but I should have started. it

50:00

right at the beginning. Oh well,

50:02

whatever. Here's the first part of

50:04

our two-part voicemails. Hi Mike

50:07

and Matthew. I have three things I

50:09

wanted to say to you. First thing

50:11

is... Matthew,

50:15

I also chew nicotine gum and

50:17

I feel like a cow on

50:19

many occasions. That's one. Two

50:22

is the pits and teeth. My

50:24

mother was in the hospital a very

50:26

long time and she is now home

50:28

in a wheelchair and her posture really

50:31

suffered while she was in the hospital.

50:33

So I have taken to saying that

50:35

to her when her posture is slumpy

50:37

or when we're taking a picture. I'll

50:39

tits and teeth ladies tits and teeth

50:42

and she gets a hoot out of that. The

50:45

third thing I don't remember. I'll

50:47

have to call again when I remember. Take

50:50

a shit in your hat. I

50:55

love that she says tits and teeth through

50:57

mom. That's fantastic. It is

50:59

funny. Well here's the third

51:01

thing because she called back. Hello

51:03

again Mike and Matthew. I remember

51:05

the third thing. Mike,

51:08

every time you have an episode

51:10

that involves Native American place names

51:12

and names, I'm always

51:14

so impressed with how you pronounce

51:17

them. I don't know if they're

51:19

correct but they sound very impressive.

51:21

Good job. See you guys. Sometimes

51:25

I don't pronounce them correctly and people

51:27

correct me on it but

51:29

you know I'm trying. I really am trying.

51:31

That's part of my truth

51:34

and reconciliation commitment is to

51:36

try to pronounce indigenous

51:39

names correctly.

51:42

I'm trying and

51:45

also a part of that is telling more

51:47

indigenous stories so we have one coming up.

51:51

Just so as you know. Okay. Yeah

51:53

I've been doing some work and

51:55

it's gonna be a multi-part. Two

51:59

parts. Two parts. Yep,

52:01

starting next week. Okay.

52:04

Mm-hmm. I'm not going to tell

52:06

you what it is because people go look it up

52:08

and spoil the episode for themselves. But

52:11

anyway, it's really fascinating. Really

52:14

a fascinating case. And

52:16

just on so many levels. So

52:20

there you go. That's it for

52:22

voicemails. That's it

52:24

for this week's voicemails. Again, you can

52:26

leave us one at 1-877-327-5786 or 1-877-DARKPTN. We'd

52:35

love to hear from you, even if it is just to

52:37

say hi and to tell us to go shit in our

52:39

hats. If you're stumped for what

52:42

to chat with us about, a quick

52:44

story is welcome. Alrighty, it's time for

52:46

some patrons and donut

52:48

money donors. So

52:51

first we'll tackle Patreon. First

52:54

up we have Kate

52:57

Whitter. Kate Whitter. And

52:59

I don't know where Kate is from, Matthew.

53:02

Do you know in the Wylie

53:06

Coyote and the Road Runner? Oh

53:09

yes, I absolutely do, yeah. Is

53:11

that Arizona? I believe it

53:13

is Arizona, Utah. Somewhere

53:16

in the western United States.

53:19

That's where she lives. Oh, okay. So

53:21

she lives in that area. Yeah. Does

53:23

she work for ACME? She does. You

53:26

beat me to the punch, Mike. Oh, there

53:28

you go. Yeah, she works for ACME. So

53:31

ACME was the place where Wylie Coyote

53:33

got all his tools, including his dynamite,

53:37

blow himself up constantly.

53:40

The ACME Bomb Company. So what

53:42

does Kate do there at ACME?

53:48

She makes sure that the length of

53:50

the fuse is the right length. So

53:53

it's her fault that he's blown himself up.

53:58

Well, there you go. Thanks, Kate.

54:00

for blowing up Wiley. Keeping

54:03

us entertained and the road runner alive.

54:06

So anyway, uh, next we

54:08

have Jenny Smith and Jenny

54:11

is from just South of us a

54:13

little bit. Seattle, Washington, Seattle,

54:16

Seattle, Washington. That's not far

54:18

South at all. No, I

54:20

love Seattle. Seattle is one

54:22

of my favorite cities. It's

54:24

a good, it's a good place. Mm hmm.

54:28

So what do you think Jenny

54:31

Smith does there in Seattle,

54:34

Washington, Matthew? I

54:37

think she gives away money at

54:39

the Belinda and Melinda

54:43

Gates foundation. The Gates foundation.

54:45

Yeah. Belinda and Melinda. Belinda

54:48

and Melinda. Oh, so Melinda, the

54:50

drag queen works there. Melinda. Yeah.

54:53

And Belinda. My buddy

54:55

Melinda. I

54:57

want to say Bill and Belinda. Yeah. Is

54:59

it Bill and Melinda? And I said Belinda.

55:02

Belinda, my guess. Is that like

55:04

Brangelina, Belinda? I

55:07

guess so. I thought she would

55:09

be the, one of the people throwing the

55:11

fish at Pike Place Market. Have

55:13

you ever seen that? I have not.

55:16

So Google it, you'll see lots

55:18

of videos. So essentially there's guys

55:20

working in that market and they

55:22

throw fish across the market to

55:24

each other and catch up. Oh,

55:26

oh, I thought it was some

55:29

people. Like dwarf throwing or something. No, I thought

55:31

it was like people protesting and throwing fish at

55:34

the Starbucks or something. Well,

55:37

Seattle is known for its

55:39

protests. So anywho, thank

55:42

you. Thank you so much.

55:46

Oh my goodness, Matthew. Well,

55:49

I mean, you know, Jenny, Jenny

55:52

could be, uh, she could give us some

55:54

money. That would be, that would be

55:56

nice. I would like some money. Do you, do

55:58

you want some money, Matthew? Gates

56:00

Foundation? The Gates Foundation. I mean,

56:02

we could do something good, I'm

56:04

sure. Yeah, we

56:07

should, we could 100% do something

56:09

good. Other than paying ourselves. Right.

56:13

Right. Right, he says. Right.

56:18

Oh boy. Uh,

56:22

yeah. Oh, look at that. So

56:24

I've moved on to Donut Money

56:26

Donors, and our

56:29

friend Steve Heaton from the UK

56:31

is back. And

56:33

Steve says, hi again

56:35

from your English buddy. Wanted to ask

56:37

if you'd heard of the case of

56:39

Gareth Williams, an MI6 agent who was

56:42

found August 2010 in

56:44

London, naked, stripped,

56:46

hold all, uh,

56:48

naked in a zipped, in zipped

56:50

hold all, padlocks, an

56:53

empty bath in, in

56:56

locked room, might be of some interest.

56:58

Anyway, all the best. Hope you well.

57:01

Interesting. My husband and I were talking

57:03

about that just the other day. Oh,

57:06

cool. And

57:08

we are pretty sure that, uh,

57:11

it was, uh, spy games and, and

57:14

we think, we think he was probably

57:16

double agent or something. Okay. And,

57:18

um, uh, because it, the,

57:22

the, all these shenanigans went around sort

57:24

of like who he was. And I

57:26

think it was so obvious that the

57:28

media was being fed bull crap. Yeah.

57:31

And I think MI5 or MI6

57:33

just couldn't say, uh, who

57:35

he really was. So yeah,

57:37

he was, uh, I'm

57:40

just looking this up now. There's a lot

57:42

of interesting information, perhaps maybe Matthew, because you

57:44

lived in London, you might want to write

57:47

a case about it. We

57:49

could cover it as a, as a road

57:51

trip for sure. Could

57:55

be fascinating or I could write it because

57:59

you don't seem very enthused. Matthew just

58:01

sitting here quietly. Yeah, he just sits

58:03

there quiet. Maybe, maybe, maybe. No, Mike,

58:06

you do the work. Maybe eventually, but...

58:09

Okay, we'll put Gareth Williams on

58:11

the list, but thanks again, Steve,

58:13

for your donut money.

58:15

We really appreciate it. It means a

58:17

lot, especially that you've done a couple

58:19

of, well, more than a couple of

58:21

few. We do appreciate it.

58:24

Yeah, thank you, Steve. And

58:27

maybe Steve's hobby is being a spy.

58:29

I don't know. He could be

58:31

spying for the UK. Yeah,

58:33

I think, you know, I think Steve

58:36

works for Cece's. For

58:38

Cece's? Yeah. Well, even though he's in

58:40

the UK, he works for Cece's. Well,

58:42

I guess Cece's would have... Dude. They

58:45

called him Spooks. Absolutely.

58:48

He's there, he's there spying

58:50

on the UK government for Canada. Well,

58:53

there you go. Well, fantastic,

58:55

because I'm sure we're very curious about

58:57

what's going on in the UK. Sorry

59:00

to out you there, Steve. Yeah. Now

59:02

Steve's gonna be found in a

59:04

zipped red bag, which

59:07

we don't want anyway.
